Galileo Galilei has been called the father of modern science by Albert Einstein. He was both an exemplary
researcher and scientific leader. For more info, see Wikipedia: Galileo Galilei
We will be giving awards to highly influential worldclass scientists (roughly 0.1 percentile or top 1 in 1000)
based on number of first name publications in the top 1 percentile of citations during this millenium (from 2000 onwards)
and their contributions in scientific leadership (i.e. SIG chair, steering committee chair, etc.). It will be
possible to nominate scientists for this in the near future.
